The materials used for blister packaging are mainly PTP medicinal aluminum foil and plastic hard sheet. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) or composite materials are usually used as plastic hard sheet materials.

Polyvinylidene chloride film (PVDC) is a kind of film with the best barrier performance. It has barrier performance and chemical stability to oxygen, water vapor, carbon monoxide and organic compounds. Among many polymer pharmaceutical packaging materials, only PVDC has high barrier performance to water vapor and oxygen at the same time, which has been widely used in pharmaceutical packaging.

In high barrier pharmaceutical packaging, it is usually used as coating material. 2-4m PVDC composite film is coated on PP, CPE and PET film, which can play the role of moisture resistance, flavor preservation and moisture resistance. PVDC is the most common coating in blister packaging. It can reduce the air permeability and moisture permeability of PVC blister packaging by 5-10 times. PVDC coated composite film for medicine is used to make high-temperature cooking sterilization bags and fresh-keeping and anti-corrosion bags in China.
